This is a pretty nifty effort in Los Angeles to convert a street (with existing large grassy median) into a park, for pedestrians, bicycling, etc.

Visiting #albuquerque has shown me how a downtown can die that is to #car culture. #parking lots spanning entire blocks making it feel hollow and empty. Zoning preventing housing nearby making it a place you plan to go to, instead of live in. It has so potential, but sacrificed it all for parking, ironically killing any reason to visit. #cities #urbanism
