Bot which posts a section from a Project Gutenberg book which happens to mention the current date, and links to the book, surfacing all kinds of curious old writing you never knew existed.
[“The current date” of course may not quite match your date, because timezones.]

My favorite famers market cherry sales people said all their produce, including the cherries, is all coming in a month ahead of usual due to this year's weather. So this has become an early "eat a whole bunch of cherries" season for me.
Tennessee is delighted that I'm back home after two and a half days away. Unfortunately, he shows this in part by climbing on my chest to get petting and treats multiple times a day — including when I'm trying to sleep.
And since he has wrapped around his little paw, of course I give in and give him that petting and those treats.
This is what happens when a bird unexpectedly flys overhead and I pull out my iPhone, point it in the right direction and try to get a photo — and get a bit lucky.
Tennessee making it known it's time for some petting and treats.
(He's standing on my chest as I'm lying in bed.)
I just had to buy some sunflowers at the farmers market today.
Here's camera-shy Tennessee on this #caturday. He's such a good boy, continuing to take his thyroid meds just fine even with the capsules that are much bigger than his prior pills. And yes, he gets plenty of treats as a reward.
Independent Bookstore Day is #today April 25! It’s also my birthday! Oh, how the stars have aligned for you to celebrate both events at once by buying or sharing my books through bookshop.org

Poor Tennessee. Not only did he have a trip to the vet, but there was a stranger in his house.
The stranger was my handyman changing a lightbulb I can't reach and removing the screen in my office window so he could clean that window for me. (It's awkward to get to and hard to clean when you're short like me. He's tall.)
But now I have a clean window for #FensterFreitag, so it doesn't look yucky in the background of Tennessee photos!

I met a new friend #today and we hung out in Central Park.
Lately, whenever someone says ‘let’s hang out’, I try to follow up. It seems to surprise people, mostly in a good way.
Do yourself a favor. Follow the #today tag.
In it you'll find people talking about their lives. How tall their grass is growing. How long its been since they've seen a loved one. How worried they are about their plumbing.
It's where we can remember the joy and sorrow of shared experiences together.
