When an #Uber or #Lyft driver gets paid less than $0.725 per mile (every trip in NJ, anyway) the trip is a loss. That's before the driver gets paid for his or her time. Take a loss three out of five years and the #IRS calls it a hobby. Then every dollar spent by a rider is taxable. No deductions.
