Maybe we can join forces and work together with Loops, and if not, lets keep in touch so we can work on #activitypub compatibility?

I'm already working closely with @stux on #Goldfish, which is shaping up to be a serious fedi TikTok contender!

Having said all this and having had lots of people share shorts from #YouTube or #Instagram with me, yes, there is a place for silly dogs and silly cat shorts.

Hopefully, as more people use #Loops, we will get less of people recycling stuff from #TikTok onto it

Yes we want to be able to hide slop, because it insults our brains and souls.

Why would anyone want to look at pictures or videos generated by copying e.g. actual photographers or artists, instead of watching or admiring the original?

Yes these kind of accounts bluntly copying recently posted pictures already exist e.g. on Pixelfed. They just download our images, throw them into a slop machine and post the output as "originals".

Those slops add zero none nada absolutely null value to our society or the arts and their sole purpose is attention seeking. And this at our all costs by burning vital resources.

I wouldn't mind banning them all. Let them do their scamming on TikTok or Insta, but not in the #fediverse.

The #WikimediaFoundation is signing a disturbing agreement with #Indonesia in order to allow Indonesian access to #Wikipedia.

A provision in the agreement lets the govt "take down content deemed as 'causing public unrest and disturbing public order'."

Indonesia assured WF that the agreement was merely "administrative" and that "there would be no unlawful content takedown orders." But of course the agreement makes harmful takedowns lawful.

"Last October, Indonesia briefly suspended #TikTok's local operating licence after the social media platform refused to share information sought by Jakarta about violent anti-government protests earlier in the year."
